Wedding Planning Timeline:

First things first:

8-12 months before

-Discuss your ideal wedding with your fiancé

A perfect time to practice communication and compromise ;)

-Make a budget

This should include all wedding expenses, including engagement expenses and honeymoon plans. It’s best to be clear with each other on what is important to each of you to avoid unnecessary stress when it comes to decisions along the way.

-Choose a date

You may want to choose more than one if you have very specific thoughts and ideas on wedding location and vendors.

Next up:

8-10  months before

 -Create a guestlist

This is always a more difficult than it seems so give yourselves time to come back to this task a few times before finalizing.

-Find a wedding venue and ceremony location

If they are at different locations, think about the timing of each event for you and your guests.

-Invitations

Choose and order once your dates and location are set.

-Find your perfect dress

Some may love a quiet, intimate shopping experience while others would love to make it a party. The more you can communicate your ideal shopping day with those involved the smoother the day will go.

-Book your wedding services

As soon as you have a date and location it is best to find and book your photographer, videographer, hair & makeup artists, flowers, wedding cake, music & entertainment and, if not planned through your wedding venue, food and décor.

Keeping it all going:

6-8 months before

-Shop for bridesmaid dresses, shoes and accessories

There are many options for online shopping that would be suitable for your bridal party to use if they are in different locations across the country.

-Website

Most couples like to have a website to have all the information they, the wedding party and the guests, should need and know.

This should include dates, wedding day itinerary as well as your gift registries!

-Engagement Photos

These will be used on the website and at the wedding so would need to be done before finishing up your website. Some couples like to use them for their wedding invitations as well so then you would have to plan accordingly and likely have these done soon after our engagement.

Moving along:

3-6 months before

-Groom and Groomsmen attire

Don’t forget the little men (ring bearers) in the wedding party who may need to shop in different stores for their smaller sizes.

-Plan your honeymoon

This will be such a treat after a busy season of wedding planning!

*are your passports up to date?

Don’t Forget:

1-3 months before

-Hair & Makeup trial

It’s always good to be sure of the look you are going for ahead of time, especially if your stylists aren’t ones you’ve worked with in the past.

-Wedding Day transportation

How will you get to your picture location, ceremony, and wedding venue? *don’t forget hotel or airport transportation after the festivities are all over.

Week of:

-Timetable

Confirm arrangements and wedding day timetable with wedding vendors, stylists, photographers, caterer and venue.

-Dress rehearsal

Run through a whole ceremony dress rehearsal with the bridal party and officiant.

-Personal Prep

Mani & Pedi and other pre-wedding personal prep.

-Honeymoon Prep

Pack everything you need for your honeymoon, keeping your items you need handy easily accessible (keys, ID, passports and tickets)

-Final fitting and pick up

Arrange pick up of all last items needed for the bridal party including the groom and groomsmen clothing and shoes.

Day Before:

-Have a list of venue and vendor phone numbers ready for those in charge to contact if there are any last minute changes on the wedding day.

-Floral bouquet pickup or delivery

-Drop off table cards, menus, favors and place cards along with all other DIY wedding items to the venue or to the day of wedding coordinator.

-arrange last minute payments or charges that are outstanding.

Day of:

-Arrange a time to give thank you gifts to parents and wedding party.

-Give wedding bands to the best man.
